Bac Giang accelerates traffic connection
New Bac Giang – Lang Son Expressway helps shorten down the distance and travel time between two provinces and facilitates cultural and trade activities. It is also one of key “farm produce roads” in the province and nation.

The provincial road No.293 or popularly called as “spiritual road” has become critical axle to link to provinces of Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong city. It is expected to be a pilgrim route which draws visitors to Bac Giang.
Yen Dung road and bridge connects two big industrial hubs in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces, namely Song Khe – Noi Hoang and Que Vo industrial parks to create co-action position in economic development.

The national road No.37 and 17 were upgraded and expanded while many roads and bridges will be opened with the shape and scale of time.
According to the provincial Department of Traffic, for recent five years, the province has prioritized to invest about 18 trillion VND (795 million USD) in traffic infrastructure. So far, the districts with section of national road have increased the capability of inner and inter relation as well as linkage with key economic areas, industrial parks and major urban areas in the region, helping boost up the socio-economic growth, ensure the national defense and security.
The above results were gained thanks to high determination of the whole political system which was specified by Resolution No.113 of the provincial Party Committee’s Executive Board, tenure 2015 – 2020.
By confirming the shortcomings in traffic infrastructure, Bac Giang defined it as the key sector of socio-economic structure and critical task for local development.
Right in the initial period of the tenure, many new bridges and roads were put into the resolution for early implementation. Typically, removing the “bottleneck” on Hanoi – Bac Giang Expressway on Nhu Nguyet bridge. The province decided to spend 456 billion VND from the budget to build one more bridge with six lanes.
At the same times, several bridges will be built to tap the potential and link to adjacent localities, including Ha Bac bridge No.1 and 2 (total investment of 700 billion VND); Van Ha bridge (total investment of 150 billion VND) to link to Bac Ninh province.
Connecting to the Eastern economic axle and Hai Duong province, Bac Giang will construct Dong Viet road and bridge from provincial and local budgets with total capital of over 1,700 billion VND; put into plan to propose the Ministry of Transport to revamp and upgrade the National Road No.37 at section Kep – Than crossroad – Cam Ly bridge as well as build Cam Ly road bridge to separate from railway.
Moreover, the province also builds new Belt Road No.4 in Capital region in line with investment divergence for section of National Road No.37 – Cam Ly to provincial road No.293 to link to Hai Duong province; route and bridge from Hiep Hoa district to Pho Yen (Thai Nguyen province) with total investment of 558 billion VND; new North – South route in Hiep Hoa district with local budget of 350 billion VND; new road from National Road No.37 crossing National Road No.17 to Vo Nhai with total capital of 1,450 billion VND.

Bac Giang is going to spend 910 billion VND from central budget to revamp and upgrade the National Road No.31; 650 billion VND to revamp and expand the frontage roads on both sides of Hanoi – Bac Giang – Lang Son Expressway; 938 billion VND to build new bridge and paths to link My An port (Luc Ngan district) to National Road No.13 and 1 to thoroughly open the route to Lang Son.
The province has paid special attention to linking to Quang Ninh province by executing the project to prolong the provincial road No.291 with total cost of 810 billion VND to attract pilgrim visitors on two sides of East and West of Yen Tu as well as exploit the economic way by key sea port of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong…
“2020 – 2025 will be the period when each traffic project and item pave the way to connect with scale,” affirmed by Bui The Son, Director of provincial Department of Transport as the determination for a modern traffic in Bac Giang province in near future.
