Bac Giang celebrates 60th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties
The veterans, former volunteer soldiers and military experts helping Laos revised the tradition, sat for a talk and affirmed the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Deputy Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam Chanthaphone Khammanichanh expressed his thanks to Vietnamese Party, State and people, especially Bac Giang province for paying due attention, providing timely and effective great support for Laos during the course of liberating the nation in the past as well as constructing and protecting the country of Laos nowadays.
Speaking at the event, permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son stressed, in recognizing the special cooperative ties between Vietnam and Laos, the two countries signed the bilateral Treaty of Amity and Cooperation on July 18, 1977.
Together with the whole country, Bac Giang province has implemented a number of Party-to-Party, State-to-Sate and people-to-people diplomatic activities to contribute to nurturing the friendship between the two nations.

Specially, the leaders of Bac Giang and Xaysomboun provinces in 2021 signed the local level international cooperative agreement for the period of 2021-2025. Both provinces agreed to establish the friendly cooperative ties, boost advocacy and education about the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of the two nations. Besides, they will promote the land, people, culture, potentials, socio-economic achievements and cooperative ties of the two localities.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son said, the province would pay attention to effective implementation of the agreement signed with Xaysomboun province in 6 fields including delegation exchanges and experience sharing, cooperation in agriculture, health, education and training, culture, sports and tourism and investment in construction.

In addition, both provinces will boost propaganda and education about the friendship of the two countries and two provinces and strengthen cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two provinces contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Laos great friendship and special solidarity for evergreen and ever-sustainable relations.
On this occasion, permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son gave a picture of Vinh Nghiem pagoda to Lao Embassy. 10 veterans and former voluntary soldiers were awarded for their great contributions to people-to-people diplomacy.
