At the meeting, Phan The Tuan informed Bac Giang is a highlight in economic development in Vietnam and an attractive destination for many big domestic and foreign investors. Particularly, its foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction has been in top 10 leading provinces and cities nationwide.

China is the second biggest investor in terms of the number of projects and ranks first in FDI capital in the province. The province is home to 171 Chinese projects with total registered capital of over 3.4 billion USD (accounting for approx. 50 percent of the total FDI capital in Bac Giang province).

China has been defined a traditional and important market to Bac Giang province, which takes major proportion in export of industrial and farm products especially lychee of the province. The import - export turnover of Bac Giang and Chinese market in 2022 reached 15.3 billion USD, up 35.4 percent against 2021.

Thanks to this visit, Bac Giang province expected to receive continued support in fostering trade cooperation with Chinese partners, especially export of the province’s lychee and other farm products. Besides, the delegation was requested to introduce Chinese businesses and investors especially those from Nanning city with big potentials and modern technologies to invest in the province. Bac Giang is committed to facilitating Chinese enterprises to invest and expand their operation scale.

Head of the delegation Chen Hong hoped the cooperative ties between Nanning city and Bac Giang province and Bac Giang city particularly, between Chinese partners and Bac Giang province generally would be more developed. This visit aimed to continue implementing the important cooperation agreements signed by the high-ranking leaders of the Party and State of both counties.

In this visit to Bac Giang, he greatly expected for effective, practical and win-win cooperation between both sides especially in economic, trade sectors and building industrial production chains as both provinces share many similar industries.

He also raised an initial idea regarding the National Highway No 1 from Hanoi passing the provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Lang Son to Chongzuo and Nanning city (China) to create an economic corridor between Bac Giang and Nanning city. He hoped the leaders of Bac Giang province would consider this idea.

Besides, he requested Bac Giang province to continue supporting the sister city relationship between Bac Giang and Nanning cities which is a good foundation to boost the cooperative ties between both cities.

On the same day, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vu Tri Hai and leaders of Bac Giang city received and had a meeting with the delegation of Nanning city.
