Bac Giang creates favorable conditions for businesses to resume operations in safe conditions

Updated: 17:42, 02/06/2021
(BGO) - On the afternoon of June 1, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam Park Noh-wan visited Bac Giang province and had a working session with local leaders on the difficulties the RoK businesses are facing in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Park said that over the past month, Bac Giang province has been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Facing that situation, the province has taken drastic measures to prevent the spread of the disease, including the shutting down of four industrial parks. This has greatly affected the production activities of enterprises in general and Korean businesses and investors in particular.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai discusses with RoK Ambassador Park Noh-wan.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai gave the RoK delegation an overview of Bac Giang province. He said that over the years, businesses from the RoK have made positive contributions to the province's socio-economic development. With more than 320 enterprises and a total investment capital of about 1.4 billion USD, they are creating jobs for nearly 40,000 workers and contributing about 25 percent of the total industrial production value of the province.

In the coming period, Bac Giang province will focus on strongly developing industry with the goal of becoming a key industrial province of the country. Therefore, the province hopes that through the embassy, it will attract more Korean businesses.

Regarding the pandemic, the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee shared that Bac Giang has suffered great damage since the epidemic broke out, with the closure of many factories which caused the value of industrial production to plummet. Although the province still faces many difficulties, with the attention of the leaders of the Party, the State, ministries, central agencies as well as the sharing and help of many other provinces, the pandemic has been basically put under control.

The Secretary of the provincial Party Committee also stressed that the province's view is making the highest efforts and creating the best conditions for enterprises that fully meet requirements to come back to production in a safe and new normal state.
