In the last days of August, three medical staff working at General Hospital came to Bac Giang to get professional training under the cooperation agreement signed between the two provinces.

According to specialist II Nguyen Van Binh, deputy director of the Bac Giang Department of Health, within three months, at the request of the Lao province, the medical workers will receive training in anesthesia, general internal medicine, and pediatrics at the Bac Giang provincial General Hospital and the Bac Giang Mother’s and Children's Hospital.

The department has closely coordinated with relevant units to create the most favorable conditions in terms of accommodation and learning conditions for the first students from Xaysomboun so that they can master technical and professional skills to serve medical treatment for their locals.

At the same time, the Agricultural Extension Center under the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has also provided 18,000 fries of all kinds including tilapia, carp, and black carp; more than 4,000 kg of feed; and nearly 70 kg of chemicals and biological products for two aquaculture models in Xaysomboun province’s Longxan and Anouvong districts.

Before releasing fingerlings, households participating in the models were trained by Bac Giang province’s agricultural extension staff in breeding techniques, disease prevention, and care. In the coming time, the center will continue to deploy models to grow high-yield rice, clean vegetables in net houses, orange, and lychee in the Lao province.

Most recently, in July 2023, a police delegation from Xaysomboun visited Bac Giang province and the provincial Public Security Agency’s security camera center. The two sides discussed the situation and experience in ensuring security and order and building the public security force.

Since the cooperation agreement was signed by the two provincial administrations in August 2021, delegation exchange activities between the two sides have been regularly conducted to increase mutual understanding and experience sharing.

In November 2022, a Bac Giang delegation led by Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai paid a working visit to Xaysomboun province. On this occasion, Bac Giang provided 3 billion VND (124,688 USD) to build a school in the Lao province and gifted 21 minor surgery sets to a number of local hospitals.

The two provinces organized many mutual visits to learn about each other’s experience. Four agreements have been signed between the women's unions and the public securities agencies of the two provinces; between Luc Ngan district of Bac Giang province and Anuvong district of Xaysomboun province; and between Bagico Investment Joint Stock Company (Bac Giang) and the Xaysomboun Development Fund (Laos).

Last July, the People's Council of Bac Giang province issued a Resolution stipulating support policies for Lao students undergoing training and retraining. According to the Bac Giang leaders, the province will support and ensure the best conditions for officials and students from Xaysomboun province when studying in Vietnam.
