Bac Giang-Xaysomboun love

Starting from the capital of Vientiane, the delegation crossed 230 kilometers of roads with many steep passes and bends to Xaysomboun province. Its center is Anuvong district, which looks like a valley surrounded by many high mountains.

Despite being quite tired after the over-five-hour journey, the delegation members were very happy, because since the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two provinces in August 2021, this was the first time a Bac Giang delegation had officially set foot in the land where there are their beloved brothers and sisters.

The delegation received a warm welcome from Xaysomboun’s officials and people, alongside the enthusiastic support of Bac Giang people who are living and working in Laos.

The closeness and sincerity were shown more clearly through activities to learn about the cultural traditions of the people of Laos in general and Xaysomboun in particular.

All of these helped the Bac Giang delegation better understand the traditional culture of Laos, thereby deepening the close relationship between the two localities.

Love and responsibility

Before the official meeting in Laos to realize the cooperation agreement, Bac Giang province had sent officials to survey and step by step implement many important contents.

In addition to receiving three students from the Lao province to learn Vietnamese language in Vietnam and then study at a university in Bac Giang, the province has directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to devise a plan to support Xaysomboun in building agricultural models. In the near future, the province will welcome a delegation of officials and outstanding farmers from Xaysomboun to visit and learn from experience in organizing agricultural production.

The Bac Giang delegation also provided the Lao province with 3 billion VND (122,350 USDS) to build schools and buy some medical equipment; as well as sent representatives from a number of provincial enterprises to explore investment opportunities in Xaysomboun. During the visit, cooperation agreements were also signed between Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) and Anuvong district (Xaysomboun province); between the Women's Unions of the two provinces; and between BAGICO Investment Joint Stock Company in Bac Giang and the Development Fund of Xaysomboun.

During the talks or meetings, Secretary of the Bac Giang provincial Party Committee Duong Van Thai always emphasized: "Bac Giang attaches great importance to the cooperation with Xaysomboun and will make every effort to support the Lao province in the spirit of the signed cooperation agreement”. The activities in the past time and during the working trip have contributed to clearly affirming the sentiments and responsibility of Bac Giang province towards its Lao counterpart.

Xaysomboun Party Committee Secretary and Governor Phoikham Houngbounyuang said he was very moved by the warm sentiments of Bac Giang province. He hoped for better mutual understanding and connections between the two localities, thus helping foster the special friendship between the two peoples.

The Bac Giang delegation left good impressions during the working visit, contributing to tightening the close relationship between the two provinces as well as beautifying the special solidarity, great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States and people of Laos and Vietnam.

Xaysomboun working delegation works with Son Dong and Luc Ngan districts

(BGO) - The working delegation from Xaysomboun province of Laos led by Secretary of the Party Committee and provincial Governor Phoikham Houngbounyuang on May 31 paid field trip to Son Dong and Luc Ngan district of Bac Giang province.
