Bac Giang delegation visits soldiers and people in Truong Sa district and DK1 platform
The delegation of Bac Giang province includes 20 members being provincial leaders and representatives of some agencies and districts headed by Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Truong Sa archipelago is home to more than 100 islands of different sizes and coral reefs divided into 8 clusters including Song Tu, Loai Ta, Thi Tu, Nam Yet, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Tham Hiem and Binh Nguyen. Currently, a number of solid buildings and houses have been built on the islands and coral reefs, some of which are inhabited. Besides, there are lighthouse and docks enabling ships to avoid storms, refuel or repair.
Thanks to due attention by the Party, State, Military and people, the infrastructure and socio-economic development of these islands has been improved to gradually build up Truong Sa district in Khanh Hoa province to become an administrative unit deserving its position in Vietnam’s administrative system.

Departing from Cam Rank port in the central province of Khanh Hoa, the delegation visited and encouraged the officers and soldiers carrying out missions on the islands of Da Lon, Nam Yet, Sinh Ton, An Bang, Da Tay, Co Lin, Big Truong Sa, Thuyen Chai and DK1/11 platforms.
Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and other members asked about living, health and work of the officers and soldiers especially who are Bac Giang people working in the islands. Besides, she briefed the officers and soldiers on the socio-economic situation, implementation of the social security policies and army rear policies of the province over the past time.
According to the provincial Vice Chairwoman, Bac Giang is the hometown of late Admiral Giap Van Cuong, former Commander of Vietnamese Navy, an outstanding commander having significant contributions to the sea and island sovereignty protection of the nation. Currently, many sons and daughters from Bac Giang province are working on Truong Sa archipelago.
She encouraged the officers and soldiers to continue fostering the tradition of the former generations, raising the sense of solidarity, ceaselessly studying and practising, making efforts to overcome all difficulties in the dangerous places, well fulling all duties assigned by the Party, State and people and firmly protecting the sacred sea and island sovereignty and continents of the nation.

On this occasion, on behalf of the provincial Party, government and people, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha gave 500 million VND (21,540 USD) to the officers, soldiers and people in Truong Sa district and presented other necessities to the officers and soldiers working on the islands within Truong Sa archipelago worth about 250 million VND (10,768 USD).
In addition, the delegates took part in many meaningful activities such as the flag-raising ceremony at Truong Sa island, paying tribute to heroic martyrs in Truong Sa archipelago and the southern continent and incense offering to heroic martyrs on Nam Yet island.
