Departments, branches, and localities in the province continue to review information technology infrastructure in their units so as to ensure conditions to support citizens in online public services.
People's Committees of districts and cities continue to offer training for community-based digital technology teams to help popularise digital platforms, digital technologies, and digital skills in the community, enabling all people to use digital technologies.
The provincial Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs continue coordinating with district-level People's Committees in implementing non-cash payment plans for social security services.
The Department of Health is urged to accelerate digitalisation in order to achieve the targets assigned by the National Committee for Digital Transformation in Bac Giang province in 2023.
Accordingly, over 30% of the province’s population is expected to use platforms that support distance medical examination and treatment, and over 80% of the population with have electronic health records.
According to the province’s Department of Information and Communications, at present, the province's telecommunications infrastructure has basically met the requirements for digital transformation and smart city construction, especially the Internet and mobile phone network. Now, over 83% of the province’s household access broadband Internet, and 75.97% of the province’s mobile phone subscribers use smartphones.
Since the beginning of this year, the provincial committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCM CYU) has implemented a pilot digital programme at its chapters. It also set up a team of young people to support people in conducting online public services at the provincial Public Administration Service Center.
The HCM CYU committee of Bac Giang city also launched projects on e-libraries for local communities and worked with the MobiFone telecom company to develop a virtual tourist guide at dulichso.bacgiang.gov.vn.
HCM CYU chapters at different levels in Bac Giang have organised three conferences on digital transformation, attracting the participation of more than 1,500 young people across the province.
Youth union members also join communication campaigns on cashless payment. Currently, in the province, 70% of the population aged 15 and over have banking accounts and 91% of the province's population have electronic health records.
Up to now, all communes and hamlets in the province have digital technology groups with about 16,000 members who are expected to help promote digital transformation at the grass root level.
