Bac Giang enjoys bumper custard apple season with smooth consumption
BAC GIANG – Bac Giang province currently has more than 2,000 hectares of custard apple, mostly in a number of communes such as Huyen Son, Nghia Phuong, Dong Phu (Luc Nam) and some communes of Luc Ngan district, reported the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Thanks to favorable weather this year, the custard apple yields and output are higher than last year. It is now the beginning of the harvest season, custard apple output is expected to reach 16,000 tonnes (up nearly 1,000 tonnes compared to the same period in 2023).

So far, local farmers have harvested more than 220 tonnes of custard apple. The fruits are now sold at high price of 35,000 – 60,000 VND per kg depending on each type which will remain stable in next 10 days, prior to the main harvest season.

According to leaders of Nghia Phuong Commune People's Committee, the entire commune has more than 400 hectares of custard apple and expects to harvest around 10,000 tonnes, an increase of about 20% over the same period last year.
Local people often pick custard apples at night to sell early in the morning to traders for consumption in markets such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh...

It is considered a crucial solution and task in executing the National Target Programme for building new-style rural areas during the 2021-2025 period.
