The province now has 61 wood processing facilities for export, 12 of which directly export wood processed products to foreign markets. Bac Giang is home to a material area of 80,000 hectares of planted forest with annual output of 600,000 cubic meters that basically meets the material demand for wood processing enterprises.
However, most of the local wood processing facilities are small and major exported products are plywood made by backward technology with high production cost and low competitiveness.

Otherwise, almost of planted forest area in the province yet to have sustainable forest management certificate which remains the huge challenge to export wood processed products to European market.
Also, there is loose linkage between forest growers and wood processing facilities as well as among the wood processing enterprises which fails to ensure the stable material source and product cost to tap the available potential in the province.
