Provincial Chairman has round-the-clock hotline to receive investors’ feedback
Responding to Zing's reporters, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong said that attracting FDI is a competition between localities across the country. Any locality that has industrial and economic zones wants to welcome "eagles" to nest. However, in order to be selected by investors, it must meet certain criteria.

Bac Giang sees three main criteria that investors often take into account. Firstly, the place where the production line is based must be convenient in terms of geographical location. It must be near airports, arterial roads, seaports and border gates. Therefore, the province has planned industrial zones to meet criteria of investors regarding transport conveniency.
Secondly, Duong emphasized that the most important criterion is the investment environment. Investors do not intend doing business for 5 or 10 years but decades or even longer. Therefore, the province must have an attractive, favorable and stable investment environment for a long time.

Thirdly, he mentioned the importance of accompanying investors during the project implementation, saying this is a top priority of Bac Giang. He added that procedures are a problem that every investor can face and takes a lot of time. Some projects need only few days to have their investment plans approved but their implementation prolongs due to procedural obstacles. Therefore, investors are very interested in the local willingness to accompany and remove difficulties they may face. In fact, Bac Giang did this well.
For big foreign investors, the province has set up a special working group to support them. This group will send staff to guide and even directly clear difficulties for investors.
“In Bac Giang, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee has a round-the-clock hotline to receive investors’ feedback. At any time, investors can register to meet in person with the Chairman or give feedback by phone and text message... So the provincial leaders grasp businesses’ difficulties very quickly", Duong said.

Duong recalled that many major investors in the world spent a lot of time surveying different locations across Asia, Southeast Asia, and even localities of Vietnam before making their decisions. So did Foxconn. Before investing in its iPad and MacBook assembly line, the technology company of Taiwan (China) had surveyed many localities in Vietnam.

Accordingly, its project in the Quang Chau Industrial Park is expected to produce about 8 million products per year, with a total registered capital of about 270 million USD. So far, Foxconn has invested 900 million USD in Bac Giang, creating jobs for more than 35,000 workers.
Notably, in 2021, it is expected that this company will pour 700 million USD into the locality and recruit 10,000 more employees. Now in Bac Giang, Luxshare and Foxconn are producing Apple products such as headsets, tablets and laptops.
“The MacBook and iPad production in Vietnam is just the beginning, and there will be more products. Bac Giang is gradually becoming a production base of Apple products in the world”, Duong said.
The provincial leader added that both Foxconn and Luxshare are bringing many supporting businesses to Vietnam, thereby forming a wide production network.
Bac Giang has also attracted many investors to manufacture other high-tech products. Shunsin Vietnam factory specializes in manufacturing electronic components and optical transceiver modules. Powerway Vietnam alloy plant produces alloys used in the aviation and space sectors with an investment capital of 50 million USD...
