It is about 3 weeks to come to the harvest season of early ripen lychee in Bac Giang province, what are the solutions done by the province to keep the fruit quality and price?

Now, Bac Giang has actively instructed the farmers to care for the lychee, especially under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. Thanks to the strict application of VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, the lychee quality this year is much higher than previous seasons.

With the favourable weather condition for early ripen lychee, the output is higher with better quality. It can be said that this year Bac Giang will provide the best lychee to the market comparing to the past.

What are the provincial solutions to promote the lychee consumption amid the complicated Covid-19 pandemic?

Besides production, Bac Giang will focus on expanding the consumption market, firstly the traditional one. The province is renovating the promotion activities, creating the best possible conditions to the tradesmen, groups and distributors ...to sign the product consumption contracts.

The businesses start producing the supporting services for lychee export.

Also, the province seeks new markets. Particularly, this year Japan officially opened their door to Vietnamese lychee. Thanks to the support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bac Giang has so far sufficiently prepared the conditions to introduce the lychee at best quality to this market.

At the same time, the province boosts up the domestic sale. The best lychee is also supplied to the markets across the country to serve the wide demand of domestic customers.

Currently, several big distribution groups have visited Bac Giang to ink the contract and agreement. Basically, all conditions are done to be ready for lychee promotion activities in the province.

So, what are the timely, suitable and effective programmes amid the Covid-19 pandemic?

Bac Giang has worked out 3 schemes. The first and most convenient scheme is to export lychee to all of tradition and new markets. The fruits are all exported in second scheme though there arises a few of difficulties. The third scheme is the most challenge one when we can not export the lychee and sell the fruit in domestic markers amid the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic.

Bac Giang lychee is highly evaluated by many enterprises.

However, it is the proactive preparation from the province. We still need the support from the central ministries and sectors as well as the active participation from the enterprises and customers.

In your opinion, can local lychee go further to the world market?

Japan approves for Vietnamese lychee to enter this market in official export way which affirms the trademark for the fruits including the best quality lychee in Bac Giang province. The local lychee can meet the best standard and satisfy the most demanding markets.

We will continue instructing the production to further improve the quality and meet the required standard.

At the same time, the province will gradually expand the cultivation areas so as to meet the demand of Japanese market and other ones like the US, EU as well as potential markets.

However, the most important thing is to affirm the trademark, that helps enhance the lychee value and export value. Thus, the province will further improve the productivity and quality of lychee toward enhancing the value of Bac Giang lychee.

Bac Giang surmounts difficulties to support lychee consumption

Bac Giang grants GlobalGAP certificate to 40 hectares of lychee

(BGO) – The Plant Production and Protection Division (under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) has proceeded the steps to grant the GlobalGAP certificate to 40 hectares of lychee in the communes of Quy Son, Tan Son, Nam Duong (Luc Ngan district) and Phuc Hoa (Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province).
