To date, 103 ha of lychee in the province have been granted with 19 cultivation area codes to export to Japanese market, mostly in the communes of Hong Giang, Nam Duong, Tan Son, Quy Son, Giap Son, Ho Dap (Luc Ngan district), Phuc Hoa (Tan Yen) with 107 participating households.

Head of the PPPD Dang Tan Tang said firstly the locality planned to produce about 50 ha of lychee for Japan. However, the flowering rate at several orchard is not as high as expected, hence it is necessary to have additional area to meet the target quantity.

To help the tree well develop, the competent agencies recommend the farmers to take regular caring and supervision, cut off the disease affected branches, clean up the orchard to restrict the worm and disease.

The growers were trained to use the plant protection product safely and effectively as well as make daily cultivation diary. The competent agencies have actively inspected and monitored the business of agricultural materials, especially the plant protection product to prevent the trade and usage of prohibited products.
