At the destinations, Permanent Vice Chairman Bui Van Hanh asked after the older persons and wished them live healthy to promote the tradition “High tree, huge shade” and become the firm spiritual support to the young generation while encouraging them to keep the exemplary role and actively join the campaign and movement at the grass root levels.

The provincial leader took the occasion to urge the local authorities and organizations to pay more attention to caring for the elderly and well executing the social welfare policies.

Also on the occasion, the leaders of the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front’s Committee and agencies visited and presented gifts to 34 older persons living in poor, near poor families and difficult circumstances in the city. Each gift worth 800,000 VND (over 34 USD) was mobilized from the municipal budget.

Additionally, 20 gift sets from the provincial People’s Committee were presented to the older persons at the age of over 100, each including 400,000 VND and 5m of red silk.

At the visited destination, the municipal leaders asked after the health and spirit life of the elderly then encouraged them to live happily, healthy and helpfully to contribute to building the families and localities as the bright models to the children.

These days, implementing the instruction from the municipal People’s Committee, the wards and communes in the city have mobilized the socialization sources to support the grass root divisions for the older persons to organize gifting and exchange of culture and art to improve their spiritual life.

(BGO) - The sixth Music Festival for the Older People in the northern province of Bac Giang was held on May 22, 2019 at the provincial Center of Culture and Sports for the Elderly by a joint collaboration between the provincial Association for the Elderly and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

(BGO) – The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the northern province of Bac Giang on November 3 coordinated with the provincial Association for the Elderly to hold the soft volleyball competition (the last game) at the provincial Center of Culture, Sports and Tourism within the framework of the twenty five Traditional Sports Festival for Older Persons 2018 in the province.
