Bac Giang preserves and promotes cultural heritage in associated with tourism development

(BGO) – With precious cultural heritage, the Party, authority and competent agencies at all levels in Bac Giang province have paid due attention to preserving and promoting the heritage in associated with tourism development.

The Project “Preserving and promoting cultural heritage of ethnic groups in Bac Giang province in 2021 – 2030 period” of the provincial People’s Committee (Project) prioritizes to preserve heritage recognized by UNESCO together with special national historical and cultural relic sites and those in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

The culture sport and tourism sector has joined hands with the districts and city to effectively implement the Project.

For recent year, Bac Giang Cheo Theater has organized various courses to teach the young artists the way to perform Then, Quan ho (love duet) folk song and Tinh instrument, helping satisfy audience’s demand of art entertainment. The Theater also cooperates with educational sector to train students on such art forms.

Luc Ngan district has more than 30 ethnic folk singing clubs which regularly operate and participate in contests launched by the district and the province. Many open singing courses in ethnic language to the students.

Currently, the province has nearly 150 Quan ho, Ca tru, Chau van and ethnic folk singing clubs with regular operation among nearly 2,000 members. 15 intangible cultural heritage in Bac Giang were included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage while 43 artisans are recognized as “The People’s Artist” and the “Meritorious Artist”.

Local artisans makes a significant contribution to preserving and teaching heritage in the community. Cultural heritages honored by UNESCO such as Quan Ho, the Vietnamese people's practice of worshiping the Mother of God, and the Then practice of the Tay, Nung and Thai people in Vietnam are well preserved by the authorities and competent agencies.

Annually, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism cooperates with some districts and city to organize Van singing festival, Quan ho singing festival and ethnic folk singing festival.

In addition to preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage, many key relic sites have been restored in associated with tourism development. So far, 5 relic sites and clusters in the province have been honored by Prime Minister as special national relic sites, including Safe Zone II Hiep Hoa (Hiep Hoa district), Vinh Nghiem pagoda (Yen Dung district), Bo Da pagoda (Viet Yen district), Xuong Giang Victory site (Bac Giang city), Yen The Uprising Complex (Yen The district). Besides, the province housed more than 100 national and over 600 provincial relic sites.

From different sources, Bac Giang has invested dozens of billion VND in restoring and preserving relic sites while strictly cooperating with Quang Ninh and Hai Duong provinces to build and complete document for Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac landscape and relic complex to submit to UNESCO for world heritage recognition.

Thanks to due attention and good implementation, several heritages have been preserved and revived to promote the value and diversify the spiritual life for people at all strata. It also helped create signature tourism products that attract visitors and develop local socio-economy.

(BGO) - The People’s Committee in Viet Yen district (Bac Giang province) on May 12 ( lunar April 12) held a ceremony to announce the Decision recognizing traditional mud ball wrestling festival in Van village as national intangible cultural heritage.  
Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong join hands in making Yen Tu world heritage dossier
(BGO) – The Complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes includes a system of historical and cultural relic sites associated with the birth, formation and development of the Tran Dynasty and Truc Lam Zen sect in Vietnam. The drafting of a scientific dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition of the complex as a world cultural heritage is underway. Once approved, it is expected to be the first interprovincial world heritage of Vietnam.

(BGO) - For nearly five months, the Cultural Heritage Management Software in Bac Giang province has been put in operation at the domain qldsvh.bacgiang.gov.vn.  
Two festivals in Bac Giang recognized as national intangible cultural heritage
(BGO) – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued decision to announce the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage, including two festivals in Bac Giang province (Tien Luc festival and mud-ball wrestling festival in Van village).
Impression of Bac Giang Culture – Tourism Week 2023
(BGO) – Bac Giang Culture – Tourism Week 2023 took place from February 1 – 6, featuring attractive activities held across localities in Bac Giang province such as Tay Yen Tu spiritual – ecotourism complex in Son Dong district, Mo Spring Ecotourism site, Than Nong temple, Bat Nha pagada in Luc Nam district, Vinh Nghiem pagoda in Yen Dung district among others. It attracted and left deep impression on visitors near and far.
Danh temple festival is imbued with traditional culture
(BGO) – Danh temple festival kicked off on Februay 9-10 (lunar January 19 – 20, 2023) on Hau village, Lien Chung commune, Tan Yen district of Bac Giang province. The communal event attracted numerous local people and visitors.
