The delegation was welcomed by Okazaki, CEO of Aeon Holdings in Southeast Asia, Iwamura, President of AeonMall Japan Co,.Ltd and senior leaders of Aeon Group. The meeting was also attended by leaders of Newland Investment JSC, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu and Chairman of the Bac Giang Fellow-Countrymen Association in Japan Hoang Tuan Anh.

The delegation works with the key leaders of AeonMall in Chiba prefecture, Japan.

PPC Secretary Duong Van Thai expressed his pleasure to see President Iwamura again at the Head quarter of Aeon Group in Japan and highly spoke on potentials of the Group. 

He added, Bac Giang province has paid high attention to accelerating the procedures after the Memorandum of Understanding with AeonMall Vietnam was signed. Particularly, the province will strive to help AeonMall to commence the project by July 2024.

He hoped that AeonMall Vietnam will start construction right after finishing land clearance to complete the shopping mall on schedule. Bac Giang province will set up a task force to handle all relating procedures to boost the project implementation.

He stressed CEO of Aeon Holdings in Southeast Asia Okazaki paid special attention to Vietnamese lychee and decided to bring this product into Aeon supermarket network. The PPC Secretary expected that Bac Giang lychee will have more opportunities to approach Japanese people after Aeon Shopping Mall in Bac Giang comes into operation.

In addition, Bac Giang province attaches importance to tourism, service and logistics development with an expectation to become a destination of entertainment and relaxing for people from big cities. He added GO! Supermarket in Bac Giang city gains increasing revenues year on year, which demonstrates big purchasing power of Bac Giang market. Thus, he affirmed AeonMall made a right decision to invest in Bac Giang.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu said Aeon Group is one of the best Japanese businesses welcomed by localities in Vietnam. The Embassy of Vietnam to Japan promised to continue supporting investment of Aeon to Bac Giang. 

The delegates visit Aeon Museum in Chiba prefecture.

The Ambassador hoped for successful investment of Aeon to help more Vietnamese goods to be sold in Aeon distribution channels and reach to Japanese people.

President Iwamura hoped that Bac Giang province will satisfy with the decision to allow AeonMall to invest in the province. AeonMall had decided capital investment and expected to commence and open the shopping mall in the earliest time.
