Bac Giang ranks first overall position at National Family Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament

(BGO) – The National Family Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament 2021 closed on November 23 after three exciting competition days. It was co-organized by Lai Chau provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Sports Administration. Bac Giang delegation won first overall ranking with eight golds, four silvers and two bronzes.  

The event was attended by 160 athletes from 12 provinces and cities across the nation. 23 players of Bac Giang team competed at 15 contents in which 18 people joined badminton and five others vied for medals at table tennis.

Completing the event, Bac Giang delegation won first overall ranking with eight gold, four silver and two bronze medals, followed by Thai Nguyen province and host Lai Chau.

Family of Le Xuan Phu, Tran Thi Nga and daughter Le Thi Anh Ngoc won two golds at badminton’s age group of 51 – 55 and over 56. Family of Do Van Chao, Ong Thi Bich Van and son Do Thanh Vinh bagged one gold and one silver at the age group of 46 – 50.

The annual event is held to encourage the sport practice movement and enhance the physical condition of each family member so as to build cultural family, cultural village hamlet and residential area in response of the campaign “The whole nation do physical exercise to follow the bright model of Uncle Ho”.
