Bac Giang’s underprivileged students given “Dream on the wings ”
BAC GIANG - The ninth "Dream on the wings" programme for underprivileged children was jointly held by the provincial Association for the Protection of Child Rights, Bac Giang Newspaper, and the provincial Study Promotion Association on September 22.
Aiming to support students as the new school year begins, this programme takes place every September. Its humanitarian significance and practical effectiveness have garnered widespread attention and participation from organisations, businesses, and individuals.

To date, it has received nearly 6 billion VND (243,986 USD) worth of cash and kind from over 450 benefactors. Many organisations and individuals have committed to sponsorships monthly or yearly or until the students graduate from high school. They have provided students with bicycles, blankets, warm clothes, school uniforms, and learning supplies.
Notable supporters include the Association in Support of Vietnamese Handicapped and Orphans; Fuji Bac Giang Development Joint Stock Company; the Club of Bac Giang Journalists in Hanoi; Vinh Anh Trading and Service Co., Ltd; Vu Xuan Hong in Quang Chau ward, Viet Yen township; Nguyen Huu Cuong, CEO of Bac Giang BGG Garment Corporation; and others.
This year, the organising committee has received over 300 million VND in donations from nearly 40 organisations, businesses, and donors. With these funds, scholarships of various amounts (starting from 1.5 million VND) and meaningful gifts like bicycles, essentials, and school supplies were awarded to 170 disadvantaged students with excellent academic performance.

They emphasised the programme's deep humanitarian significance and its role in seeking support from businesses and philanthropist around the country for underprivileged children in the province.
The officials expressed gratitude for the contributions of organizations and individuals to child welfare in Bac Giang, particularly through this programme. They asked local Party committees, authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels, and socio-political organisations to enhance their efforts in protecting, caring for, and educating children, and facilitate the activities of the Association for the Protection of Child Rights.
The three organizing units were urged to continue effectively implementing the programme in the coming years, ensuring more practical activities to attract further support from compassionate individuals and organizations, empowering children to overcome challenges and excel in their study.
