This was her first participation in an international event this year. With outstanding performance, Oanh took one gold in the women's 3,000m steeplechase event in a time of 10 minutes and 15.84 seconds and another gold in the 5,000m event in a time of 16 minutes and 23.17 seconds.

Meanwhile, her teammates at Vietnam Athletics Team including Bui Thi Nguyen, Hoang Thanh Giang and Bui Thi Loan also took part in the championship under the direction of Coaches Nguyen Manh Hieu and Tran Van Sy.

Bui Thi Loan won the third gold for Vietnam in the women's triple jump event with a 13.07 metres result. Earlier, Loan claimed one bronze in the women's long jump with a 6.01 metres result while Bui Thi Nguyen clocked 13.68 seconds to win a bronze medal in the women’s 100m hurdles.

The tournament aimed to train and improve the quality of the national athletics team to prepare for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand next year as well as the 20th Asian Games held in 2026 in Japan.

BAC GIANG - Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2023 took place on the morning of December 10. At the marathon distance of 42.195 km, star runner of Bac Giang province Nguyen Thi Oanh finished first with a record of 2 hours 46 minutes 26 seconds, 4 minutes better than her previous personal record.
