Bac Giang stimulates tourism demand, optimizes tours
These days, the number of visitors to the Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourism area (Son Dong district) has increased compared to one month ago. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Director of the Tay Yen Tu Service Joint Stock Company said: "Due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, during the Lunar New Year 2021, the number of visitors coming here hit the peak of about 3,000 from the second to the fourth day of the first lunar month. After that, there were only 50-70 tourists per day. However, in recent days, especially on weekends, the number increased to 800-1,200 visitors per day".

The Suoi Mo ecotourism area (Luc Nam district) has also welcomed more visitors. In addition to local tourists, many groups from Bac Ninh, Lang Son and Hanoi booked tours (each group of 20-30 people) to destinations in the province. In order to attract visitors, the site’s management board has offered ticket discounts of 25-40 percent for tourists, especially large groups. The unit has actively associated with travel businesses inside and outside the province to bring tourists to the site. Previously, most of the visitors to Suoi Mo self-arranged their trips, but now the proportion of tourists going on tours accounts for 60 percent. On Saturdays and Sundays, about 1,000 people come here.
As the Covid-19 epidemic was basically controlled, recently, tourism activities in many parts of the province have been resumed through promotional programmes of tourism agencies. As a result, the number of visitors coming to the tourist sites in recent days has bounced back. In addition to the Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourism area, the Khe Ro eco-tourism area (Son Dong district), and the Suoi Mo eco-tourism area (Luc Nam district), other attractions such as Xuong Giang Victory relic site, Da Mai film studio (Bac Giang city), Lang Son bombax ceiba (Yen Dung district) and Ven village (Yen The district) have also welcomed from several hundreds to 1,000 visitors on weekends.
Tran Thi Thao, a representative of the Viet Hung Education, Trade and Tourism Joint Stock Company, said that the unit is currently promoting a tourism programme with attractions like Tam Truc Pagoda (Ha Nam province), the garden fruit and Cam Son lake (Luc Ngan district). Especially, next April, the company will introduce a new tour that brings tourists to contemplate dragon fruit in Binh Son commune (Luc Nam district) together with other destinations such as Suoi Mo and Am Vai pagoda...
At the same time, the Bac Giang Tourism Promotion and Information Center will implement the programme to stimulate domestic tourism entitled "Vietnamese people travel Vietnam"; survey tours and travel routes to introduce to and call on travel companies to bring tourists to Bac Giang province. It will actively participate in tourism and trade promotion activities organized by Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to introduce the unique tourism products of the province to tourists. Currently, many tour operators are planning and developing tours to bring holidaymakers to the province after the Covid-19 pandemic is basically controlled.
Luu Xuan San, Director of the center and Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Tourism Association, said "the Vietnam Tourism Association has just formed a tourism stimulation alliance in all three regions of the country (North, Central and South), with Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City acting as coordinators. Participating units will pledge to offer discounts on costs (entrance tickets, food services, hotels...) to attract tourists. In Bac Giang province, the management board of the Suoi Mo ecotourism area (Luc Nam) has also registered to participate in the programme. There will be some more businesses following soon. In particular, the provincial Tourism Association has also held a teleconference with member units to find solutions to stimulate tourism demand in the new normal".
