In 2020, Bac Giang rank 16 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in term of GRDP scale with about 123 trillion VND (5.2 billion USD). Someone said that rising to top 15 by 2025 seemed to be a low target.

Explaining about this, former Vice Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial Business Association Nguyen Cuong said every locality moves together, noone stays still to wait for our province.

Other top leading provinces and cities have more potential and advantages than us so they have proved their activeness with breakthrough progress over the years, typically Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi city, Hai Phong city and provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Nghe An, Hai Duong, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen.

In 2022, Bac Giang surpassed Thai Nguyen and Vinh Phuc provinces to secure 13th position (with GRDP of 156 trillion VND) while Long An and Hai Duong rank 12 and 11 position respectively.

Therefore, it was a breakthrough progress for Bac Giang province to improve three paces in two years when we must encounter severe impacts by Covid-19 pandemic together with unprecedented difficulties and challenges in the world and the region, high inflation and increase of fuel and material price among others.

Conquering such issues, Bac Giang’s GRDP grew over 7.8 percent in 2021 and about 19.3 percent in 2022 which was the highest ever value helping the province rank second position across the nation only after Khanh Hoa.

The above result was achieved thanks to the great solidarity, joint effort, high determination of the Party and authority at all levels, the active participation from the whole political system, consensus and belief from people and business community in effectively implementing four breakthrough solutions specified at the Resolution of the 19th Party Congress.

They were to build strong Party and political system from province and grass-roots levels; further supplement and complete the mechanism and policies which suit to market economy and actual situation in each locality; build synchronous socio-economic infrastructure; focus on training and enhancing the quality of human resources.

“Fire proves gold, arduous challenge”, Bac Giang’s position and strength have made firm progress on the way of further breakthrough. With such position, the province sets the target to firmly maintain the ranking in the top 13 largest economies nationwide from now on till the end of the tenure. The province is forecast to level up.

To realize the goal, Bac Giang needs to continue solving “four breakthroughs” maths stated in the 19th Party Congress’s Resolution. The successful implementation at all levels, sectors and localities surely creates new changes.
