Bac Giang, Viettel sign cooperation agreement on e-government, smart city building

According to the MoU, Viettel Group pledges to support and cooperate with Bac Giang province in building synchronous, modern, interconnected and safe telecommunications and information technology infrastructure to serve e-government building, digital transformation and smart city development.
Viettel Group will study the provincial potential, make investments in areas of strength and demand in Bac Giang province, as well as introduce partners in telecommunications and information technology. In the 2021-2022 period, it will complete and put into use smart urban and e-government applications in some selected areas.
Speaking at the event, Major General Le Dang Dung briefed on Viettel's achievements and outstanding technologies in recent years. With its own strengths, the group will have many opportunities to cooperate with Bac Giang province in building smart cities and digital government and providing digital transformation solutions for enterprises based on artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
He pledged that his group will work closely with Bac Giang province to successfully implement information technology projects in the locality, ensuring the set efficiency and progress.
Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong spoke highly of the potential of Viettel and thanked the group for accompanying the province in recent years. Together with quickly providing information on the province’s socio-economic situation in 2020 and development orientations for the following years, he emphasized that over the past years, Bac Giang province has always determined that building e-government and smart cities is an important task with breakthrough significance to promote local socio-economic development. The province has deployed an integrated center; unified, centralized and interconnected document management software; one-stop-shop software; a complete online meeting system from provincial to communal level; and a document management and work management system with digital signature.
In 2020, the provincial People's Committee approved the architecture of the provincial e-government, version 2.0; and issued a digital transformation programme and an information technology development plan for the 2021-2025 period. Currently, the province is building a smart control center and expanding the integration center at the Department of Information and Communications. The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee asked Viettel Group to soon survey the potential of the province to propose specific contents. The provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Information and Communications to coordinate with the group in carrying out the projects. Every year, the two sides will review the implementation progress.
On this occasion, Viettel Group presented Bac Giang province two remote consultation systems.
