The tournament was organized by the Department of Sports in collaboration with the Vietnam Badminton Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province from 14 to 18 November. The tournament brought together 108 outstanding badminton players from 16 prominent provinces, cities and agencies in Vietnam.

Bac Giang delegation included 13 athletes (6 males and 7 females). After defeating many strong opponents, Pham Van Hai and Than Van Anh (from Bac Giang) had a convincing victory over their opponents from Lam Dong with the 2-0 score at the final match in mixed double event. 

At the semi-final of women’s single event, athlete Tran Thi Phuong Thuy (from Bac Giang) won over Vu Thi Trang (from Ho Chi Minh City) to come into the finale to compete with Nguyen Thuy Trang (from Dong Nai) for the gold medal. However, she could not continue competing due to her leg injury recurrence and stopped with the silver medal.
