Bac Giang – Lang Son Expressway officially opens to traffic

(BGO) – The Chairman of Lang Son provincial People’s Committee Pham Ngoc Thuong on January 14 inked the Decision No.79/QD-UBND to operate the Bac Giang – Lang Son Expressway from the  Km45+100 to Km109+660 with total length of 64km.

Accordingly, the 64 km expressway which starts from Km45+100 (crossing the National Highway 1 at Mai Sao commune, Chi Lang district, Lang Son province), ends at Km109+660 and links to the end point of the expansion project for National Highway 1 at Hanoi – Bac Giang section under Build – Operation – Transfer method (Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province) in the investment and construction project for Bac Giang – Lang Son expressway officially opened to traffic.

The section of Bac Giang – Chi Lang in the Bac Giang – Lang Son expressway is newly completed.

It has 5 intersections with National Highway 1, National Highway 279, National Highway 37, National Highway 31 and Provincial Road 242 as well as 33 bridges including 5 overbridges, 28 bridges crossing the river and roads.

The Lang Son provincial People’s Committee also requested Bac Giang – Lang Son BOT Joint Stock Company to promptly implement the solution to organize the traffic on the expressway which was approved by the Government authority.

The expressway cost 12,189 billion VND (521.7 million USD). It is designed with 25 meter width, 4 lanes and 2 emergency stops with design velocity of 100km/h.

The move aims to dramatically reduce travel time for the people and vehicles from Lang Son to Hanoi and vice versa. It is the arterial road to link the important economic corridor between Hanoi – Lang Son and is one of the seven radial highways connecting to Hanoi capital.

PM urges completion of Trung Luong–My Thuan expressway in early 2021
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked competent ministries and companies to accelerate construction of the Trung Luong – My Thuan Expressway project in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang so that it can be inaugurated in 2021.
