Vietnam number 1 female volleyball player shines for Turkish club in European cup
In a rare appearance for Turkish club Kuzeyboru, Vietnam's top female volleyball player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy delighted fans with an impressive performance in European volleyball tournament CEV Cup.
Thuy and her teammates faced Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday in the round of 16 of the CEV Cup, where Kuzeyboru showcased their dominance with a 3-1 victory.

In the first set, the Turkish team secured an easy win at 25-15. However, Dinamo Zagreb fought back in the second set, narrowing the gap to 29-27.
However, Kuzeyboru regained control in the third set when coach Bedestenlioglu Mehmet put Thuy on, playing her as an opposite hitter, which is not her expertise. Despite this, Thuy impressed with precise first touches, creating scoring opportunities for her teammates.
Thuy's serves also proved crucial, with Kuzeyboru scoring nearly every time she served. The Turkish club dominated this set with a decisive 25-12 win.
Thuy remained on the court in the fourth set, continuing her strong performance. She even scored the match-winning point, securing a 25-16 victory for Kuzeyboru and ending the match. Although she only played half of the third set and the entire fourth, she managed to score four points with an efficiency of 57%.
Prior to this match, rumors circulated on social media suggesting that Thuy had parted ways with Kuzeyboru due to fitness problems, sparking confusion among fans as her playing time had been limited.
However, her impactful performance in the CEV Cup has laid those rumors to rest.
