Businesses donate VND2.2 billion to help Quang Nam fight against Covid-19

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam Province on August 12 received VND2.2 billion in donations from local businesses to support the central province in its Covid-19 fight.

At the reception, the VFF chapter representatives received a donation worth VND1 billion in cash from the Thien Minh Group, in addition to 10,000 free meals for medical staff participating in the pandemic fight worth a total of VND300 million and 2,000 personal protective equipment suits worth VND300 million.

Leaders from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Quang Nam Province chapter receive the donation from local businesses.

On the morning of the same day, the Quang Nam VFF Committee also received a donation worth VND200 million from Xuan Phu Hai Investment and Construction JSC, VND300 million from the Mobifone Telecoms Corporation and VND100 million from the Quang Nam Electricity Company.

The donations will be transferred to the local frontline units, hospitals, isolation camps and blockade areas to serve the Covid-19 fight in Quang Nam.

173 tourist accommodation establishments serve as isolation camps

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has provided to the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Health a list of tourist accommodation establishments used as quarantine camps against Covid-19.

Previously, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to make the list of accommodation providing isolation, including isolation for foreign experts, investors, and highly-skilled workers entering Vietnam.

As of August 6, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received reports from 25 provinces and cities nationwide with 173 accommodation establishments, 11,733 rooms and 17,406 beds mobilised to serve isolation purposes for the Covid-19 fight.
