Can Tho to launch first Miss Tourism beauty pageant

The first Miss Tourism beauty contest of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho will be held in November to find a representative for local tourism, the organising board announced on September 19.
The contest will be co-organised by the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and EvaCom Vietnam Trading and Communication Joint Stock Company.

It will begin on November 1 and finalists will compete on the final night on November 22. Participants will also take part in activities highlighting their talent and charity work.
Head of the organising board Tran Bao Linh said Can Tho is known as the land of beautiful girls, hence it is selected for the second contest in a series of contests towards the Miss Tourism Vietnam to be held in 2021.
Luong Thuy Linh, a 19-year-old student from the northern province of Cao Bang surpassed 38 other contestants to take the crown in the final round of the Miss World Vietnam 2019 beauty contest in the central city of Da Nang on August 3.
The top 39 candidates for Miss World Vietnam will face off at the event's final round at Da Nang’s Cocobay entertainment centre on August 3.
An inter-sectoral conference was held in Hanoi on July 18 to review preparation works of the deployment of the level-2 field hospital No.2 to replace the No.1 and a sapper company, and consider the possibility of sending the civil force to join the United Nations’ peacekeeping activities.
Seven more Vietnamese military officers will join the United Nations peacekeeping missions in South Sudan and Central African Republic.
The Vietnam Mekong River Commission (VMRC) held the first plenary meeting in 2019 in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on June 19 under the chair of the commission’s chairman Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha.
