Chairman of Bac Giang Farmers' Association honored as "Farmer’s Scientist"
The title, awarded by the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (VFU) Central Committee, aims to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, and civilized farmers.

Thi is an engineer and holds a MA degree in agricultural science with more than 15 years of working experience in the agricultural industry. He served as Chairman of the Bac Giang Union of Science and Technology Associations for six years before being elected Chairman of the provincial Farmers’ Union in 2019.
In any field and any position, Thi spent much time researching new science and technology; and actively coordinated with sectors and businesses to support transfer of scientific and technical applications and new technologies to farmers, contributing to building and developing a prosperous agriculture and improving the lives of farmers.
Some of his projects and studies have been accepted and widely applied in Bac Giang, such as the provincial-level science and technology project "Replication of V2 orange growing model in Yen district, Bac Giang province", carried out from January 2013 to June 2014; and the provincial-level scientific research project "Building a model of growing Ganoderma under the lychee canopy in Luc Nam district”, implemented from May 2016 to December 2017.
Among the 62 people receiving the title in 2022, there are two professors and eight associate professors; 29 holding a master's degree or higher, including 20 with doctoral degrees. The oldest "Farmer's Scientist" this year is Le Thanh Liem, 75, from the southern province of Tay Ninh, while the youngest is Nguyen Van Huynh, 29, from the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai.
