Tran Quang Tan, Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, stated: “The industry and trade sector is actively coordinating closely with the provincial police and agricultural sectors to give high priority to the sale of lychee. The province ensures the performance of two tasks of doing well lychee sale and preventing and controlling the epidemic. The Department of Industry and Trade will organize a video conference to promote lychee consumption at 63 locations in all provinces and cities across the country and two venues in Guangxi and Yunnan provinces (China).

Le Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that a large number of foreign experts and workers employed by some FDI businesses have come to work in the province and the figure will continue to increase in the coming time. Therefore, to ensure safety, it is necessary to review and arrange quarantine areas. Enterprises must have plans to send employees to work appropriately, avoiding overload.

Concluding the meeting, Duong Van Thai, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the achieved results and pointed out the limitations and shortcomings. In the coming time, he asked departments, agencies and localities to continue performing well the "dual task" of both ensuring the pandemic prevention and control and promoting socio-economic development.

He requested conducting a review of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the first 6 months and identifying key tasks to focus on in the second half of 2020. He emphasised the need to implement measures to support enterprises and people affected by the epidemic, ensuring accuracy, transparency and timeliness.

The province should increase activities to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for production and business, and boost export and import. It is necessary to facilitate the sale of lychee and promote typical products of Bac Giang. Besides export, attention should be paid to the domestic market.

The province also needs to continue focusing on prevention and control of Covid-19, while firmly grasping the situation of local people for timely and effective support.
