Charity fund of Bac Giang businesses launched

(BGO) - On the afternoon of January 21, the provincial Business Association held a ceremony to launch a charity fund of local businesses and set its tasks for 2021. Attending the event were Nghiem Xuan Huong, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Council; Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; and representatives from the provincial Fatherland Front Committee and a number of departments and agencies.

The Charity Fund was set up following Decision 2502/QD-UBND issued by the provincial People's Committee and its charter was recognized on December 18, 2020. It aims to help deal with incidents caused by natural disasters, fires, epidemics and accidents, as well as support disadvantaged people. Bui Van Hanh, Chairman of the provincial Business Association, head of the Fund’s founding board, was named Chairman of the Fund Management Board and Director of the Charity Fund.

After announcing the fund establishment decision and launching the Fund Management Council, the leaders of the Fund encouraged businesses and philanthropists to join hands to support the Fund and actively participate in the "Tet for the poor" campaign launched by the Standing Board of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee. Chairman of the provincial Business Association Bui Van Hanh, Director of the Fund, stated that the establishment of the Fund helps businesses, organizations and individuals to have more opportunities to implement social security policies. At the same time, he committed to managing and operating the Fund transparently and effectively and in accordance with legal regulations.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan The Tuan appreciated the initiative to set up and launch the Charity Fund and the "Tet for the poor" campaign, considering this a meaningful activity that gives timely support for those in difficult circumstances, demonstrating the determination of enterprises to join hands in successfully implementing the province's socio-economic development goals.

He asked agencies, units, businesses, employees, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to pay attention to support the Fund as well as the social security programmes of the province, contributing to reducing poverty and building an increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized Bac Giang.
