The films screened provided children’s views on social issues, such as child trafficking, child marriage, clean water and environmental sanitation in rural areas, and poverty reduction.

The film ‘Dung De Con Co Don’ (Don’t Let Me Be Lonely) by a group of children from Trung Hoa commune, Ngan Son district, Bac Kan province, won the Best Short Film Prize.

The organizing board also presented an award for Best Actor, Best Director, Best Cameraman and Potential Prize at the event.

According to Hoang Ngoc Hung, Vice Chairman of Lang Ngam commune People’s Committee, Ngan Son district, Bac Kan province, the project has encouraged the children’s confidence and observation on the life around them.

“We have not only learned about how to make a films, presentations and communication skills but we have also had a chance to make friends and share our views on children’s issues,” said Nong Thi Que, a 14-year-old girl from Tu Do commune, Quang Uyen district, Cao Bang province.
