Fireworks will light up the sky of the central city of Da Nang to welcome New Year holidays.
Specifically, fireworks will be set off above Nguyen Van Troi bridge at 21:00 of January 1, 2019 to mark 22 years since Da Nang became a centrally-run city (January 1, 1997-2019).

Firework shows will be also organized at midnight on the eve of the lunar New Year which will fall on February 5 in three places, including Nguyen Van Troi bridge, and administrative centers of Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts.
The municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to keep a close watch on the implementation of the plan, and coordinate with the Departments of Finance, Tourism, and Planning and Investment to call for investments from the society.
The city’s Police was requested to work with its Military High Command to ensure safety for the shows, while the city’s Border Guard High Command required to patrol and call for ships to displace from their anchored places around Nguyen Van Troi and Tran Thi Ly bridges.
The People’s Committees of Hai Chau, Son Tra, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts were asked to cooperate with the city’s Police, Military High Command, Border Guard High Command to ensure security and order before, during and after the firework shows.
Localities allowed to hold fireworks for Tet without using State budget
Centrally-run cities and provinces are allowed to celebrate Tet 2018 (Lunar New Year) with fireworks as long as the State budget must not be used for such shows, according to a directive on the organization of Tet 2018 promulgated by the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Da Nang to host int’l fireworks fest in April
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018 will be held in the central coastal city of Da Nang from April 29 to June 30 to celebrate the country’s Reunification Day (April 30).
