Previously, the patient reception space in the Health Examination Department of the district General Hospital was always crowded, causing inconvenience to the waiting people. Acknowledging the problem, Dang Van Hau researched and proposed the hospital leaders to expand this area in 2016. The current reception part is now enlarged up to 2.5 times from only 50 square meters. Also, the area is sufficiently equipped with more chairs, canopy, guide table and numbering machine to support the patients.
He suggested updating the software VNPT-His 2.0 to 3.0 to synchronize the common items in data management and input. A Social Working Group was set up in the hospital, comprising of 9 young doctors and physicians to welcome and guide the patients. The completed examination and simplified administrative procedures help save the patients’ time and expenses.
Additionally, Doctor Hau pays due attention to correcting the mistakes made during inputting the checkup profiles into the system before sending the data to the insurance verification, Ministry of Health; thus helping boost the final accounting and timely transferring the needy cases to a higher level of insurance.
Because the district General Hospital is near to provincial hospital, many patients often take the service of higher level facilities. To attract more patients, Hau recommended the hospital leader to invite qualified doctors at the Central Hospitals such as Viet Duc Hospital and Bach Mai Hospital to provide the examination service of early cancer detection and prevention for the people on demand on every Saturday.
Hau said: “Thanks to the instruction of experienced experts, I and my colleagues have successfully conducted many obstetric and external surgeries. To date, the hospital has developed a varied list of external surgeries, including appendicitis, bubonocele, C-section for first and second birth delivery, uterine fibroid and ovarian cyst among others. The outstanding achievement partially helps satisfy the demand of the patients”.
Doctor Hau has spent time on regularly fostering the profession and implementing several topics such as researching the rate of outpatients at the age of over 60 suffering from high blood pressure in Huong Lac commune in 2014 and actual situation of Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection in peptic ulcer cases in 2016 – 2017.
With the professional education of odontology, Hau deeply understands that HP virus usually appears in the dental plaque and infects via eating and drinking. After taking the disease sample, Hau suggests the patients to use the treatment protocol with the medicine to reduce the acid and Bismuth salt; avoid sharing the bowl and chopstick as well as strictly follow the healthy diet with less fat and no beer or alcohol.
