Dutch cyclist triumphs at VTV Int’l Cycling Tournament

Eerd won the event’s most coveted prize with the best overall time of 42:59.47 after 14 stages, and walked away with 200 million VND (8,700 USD) in prize money.
The green jersey for the best sprinter went to
Sarda Perez Javier of Vietnam’s Loc Troi Group won the red jersey as King of Mountain, while the white jersey for the best young cyclist went to Purnomo Setiawan of Indonesia’s PGN.
Indonesia’s PGN seized the first place in the team category, followed by the Philippine Navy and Global Cycling Team.
Phan Hoang Thai of Domesco Dong Thap is the sole Vietnamese cyclist who made himself onto the list of 10 most outstanding athletes of the tournament, standing at the eighth spot in the overall ranking.
Meanwhile, Huynh Thanh Tung of Military Region 7 was ranked 11th and Nguyen Tan Hoai of Domesco Dong Thap was at the 14th place.
The annual event, which was co-organised by VTV and the Vietnam Cycling Federation, attracted 80 cyclists from six domestic cycling teams and six foreign clubs, competing over 14 stages covering 1,800km.
The race began on September 2 and run from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Dak Lak
