Officials of the Lang Giang district tax bureau inspect the fulfillment of financial obligations of businesses via the eTax service.

Le Huu Nam, deputy head of the provincial Tax Department, said the eTax service is a centralized one-stop-shop system with many outstanding features. Taxpayers only need an account to log in the system to use all services and manage their tax dossiers without having to change web addresses as they did previously.

Especially, the service offers some new features such as identifying responsibilities of the staff of businesses and providing information about tax obligations and results of dossier settlement of tax agencies. The service makes it easier for taxpayers to fully complete tax-related procedures like tax declaration, payment and refund, and search for information on tax payment.

To help businesses utilize the service, the provincial Tax Department has stepped up training and communication work, while establishing groups that have regularly inspected and promptly addressed bottlenecks to the implementation of the service by providing consultations for taxpayers directly or via phone. By this way, the service has been applied synchronously among businesses, receiving good comments on its convenience. It has been seen as an important spotlight in administrative reform.

Pham Van Hung, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Service and Trade JSC in Yen My commune, Lang Giang district, said his company now can declare and pay taxes via a system without having to visit different websites as it did in the past, thus saving much time. Specifically, the company can regularly check and search for tax payments and arrears in order to fulfill its financial obligations on schedule, not repeating overdue payments as in the past since the eTax service is connected online with the district’s tax management system.

As a result, in May, the company paid taxes of more than 30 million VND (1,312 USD) on time. Many large-scale enterprises in the province said apart from a major account in the eTax system, they could create many other accounts for positions like the director, chief accountant and accountant to closely supervise the tax-related performance of relevant members.

The province has more than 7,000 operating enterprises. Nguyen Van Hung, head of the provincial Tax Department’s Declaration and Accounting Bureau, said after receiving intensive training, all of the businesses have conducted tax declaration through the eTax service.

In May alone, 2,000 firms in the province registered to pay taxes monthly, using this service, with nearly 5,000 dossiers. More than 580 billion VND (25.52 million USD) in taxes has been paid through the system, reaching the set target. The remaining firms have registered to pay taxes quarterly at the end of this June.

According to a representative of the provincial Tax Department, the eTax service has not only created optimal conditions for businesses but also helped the tax sector well perform the management work. Through the service, the department and its chapters in Bac Giang city and districts have swiftly sent notices to businesses, urging them to pay tax arrears and fines.

Businesses can review the numbers and coordinate with tax agencies in adjustment, avoiding errors. The service has also helped the tax sector promptly responded to questions on tax policies posted by firms.
