Excellent students at National High School Graduation Exam 2020 in Bac Giang

(BGO) – Bac Giang province ranked 19th nationwide  on the subjects’ average score at the National High School Graduation Exam 2020 (first period). The province has many excellent students with high scores at the top list of subjects and groups.

Nguyen Van Thang – Top 100 highest scorers in group B nationwide

Getting two perfect scores in Biology and Chemistry and 9.6 score in Maths, Nguyen Van Thang, twelfth grader at Chemistry honor class in Bac Giang High School for the Gifted became the student with highest score in group B in the province and entered top 100 candidates with highest score in group B across the nation.

Visiting his home at Cau village, Dinh Tri commune (Bac Giang city), we knew that his father works as a mason with his mother’s support who could not teach him the knowledge daily but always encourage him on study.

The statistic of the Department of Education and Training shows that the province has 228 perfect scores (up 194 scores comparing to 2019) including 4 students with two 10 in Viet Yen No 1 High School (2 students), Bac Giang High School for the Gifted (1 student) and Yen The High School (1 student). The valedictorians of groups A, A1, B, C and D are students at Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

To get high scores at all subjects, Thang said he has no special secrete but firmly grasp the basic knowledge on the schoolbooks, search for more reference to review and practise many forms of subjects.

Besides, Thang shared that he is really lucky to receive the passion for study from the teachers. From eighth grade, he targeted to follow medical sector so he spent much time on Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

With total score of 29.6, the little boy of Chemistry honor class hopes to be qualified to Hanoi Medical University to realize the dream to be a doctor soon.

Pham Ha Trang – valedictorian of group A1 in the province

Getting 9.2 score in Maths, 9.5 in Physics and 9.8 in English, Pham Ha Trang is valedictorian of group A1 in the province and ranked in top 100 candidates with highest score in group A1 nationwide.

Before joining the exam, Ha Trang was selected to Faculty of Economics and Foreign Business (Foreign Trade University - FTU) in July 2020, one of the FTU’s faculty with highest selection criteria via inspecting the school report and English qualification (IELTS 7.0).

Trang lives in Ngo Quyen ward (Bac Giang city). His father works in public security force and her mother is a teacher, thus Trang always gets the best condition and orientation for study.

She studied at the high quality class in the city in secondary school with advantages in Maths and Physics. Thanks to the First Prize at the provincial Contest for Excellent student in Physics at nine grade, she get the direct entrance to Bac Giang High School for the Gifted.

Studying at the environment with many good teachers and smart students gave her practising chances. More importantly, Trang defined the target and made non-stop efforts to realize her dream.

Nguyen Ngoc Mai gains two perfect scores in History and Geography

At the exam, Yen The High School had 14 entries with 10 score, including Nguyen Ngoc Mai at class 12A5 with two perfects scores in History and Geography. Gaining total score of 28.5 (10 in History, 10 in Geography, 7.75 in Literature and 0.75 for priority), Ngoc Mai hopes to get entrance to the Faculty of Psychology at Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Many people think that group C only requires student to learn by heart. But Mai considers it is only suitable for simple questions with common knowledge. To gain high score, the candidate should have synthetic thinking, analyze and use the knowledge in high school curriculum as well as other fields of life to solve the subject’s issues.

Her mother, Nguyen Thi Tuyet shared Mai’s father works in military force while she is a teacher at Dong Hung commune (Luc Nam district) about 30km away from home, so they are regularly absent. Mai is the oldest daughter in the family. She always lives independently, self study and takes care of her little sister at ten grade and housework.

At the last academic year, the disease outbreak interrupted Mai’s concentrated study at school, making her parent really concerned. However with the independent spirit, she took full advantages of the smartphone presented by her parent on online study with teachers. Wishing that her dream to be a Psychologist will soon come true.

With two 10 scores in Chemistry and Biology and 9.4 in Maths, Pham Thi Trang who lives in Me village, Nghia Trung commune (Viet Yen district) and a student at class 12A0 in Viet Yen No 1 High School became the candidate with highest score at the 2020 exam in the district.

To get high result, the little girl said it is very important to self study at home to reinforce the knowledge. Besides, she regularly took group study together with friends to discuss the knowledge, strong and weak points in each subject and review the lessons.

Witnessing the hardness of her mason father and worker mother, Trang reminded herself that study is the only way to change the circumstance. Thus, she tried her best and ranked top group in the class in study result. Noticeably, she was good at studying all subjects.

Trang has special passion for Biology and spends any free time on it. At grade 12, she won Second Prize at the provincial Contest for Excellent Student in Biology.

With the priority score, Trang gained 29.9 points. Her chance to Hanoi Medical University and dream to be a doctor are widely opened ahead.
