An exhibition on prisons during colonial times is scheduled to take place on July 17 on the island of Con Dao to mark the Vietnamese Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers.

At the exhibition, visitors will be taken to notorious prisons, including Hoa Lo, Son La, Sai Gon, Phu Quoc, Tan Hiep and Chi Hoa.

Each article and photo on display is expected to help visitors have a better understanding of the revolutionaries’ great sacrifices for national independence and freedom.

Part of the exhibition is also devoted to showing the imprisoned revolutionaries’ aspiration for freedom and their taking of every chance to escape from “hell on earth”.

The exhibition will open at 8h30 on July 17.
