Due to the impact of cold air, today (December 26) the northern part of the East Sea / South China Sea will experience strong north-eastern winds of scale 6 (with gusts of scales 7-8) to the east, enclosed with rough seas and waves of 2-4m.
In addition, a low-pressure area is operating off the coast of south Philippines. On December 27-28, this low-pressure area will enter the southern part of the East Sea and is likely to gain more strength and become a tropical depression.
From December 29 night, north-eastern winds of scale 7 (with gusts of scales 9-10), together with waves of 3-4m and rough seas, will be recorded in the Gulf of Tonkin, offshore central and southern regions, and the northern and middle parts of the East Sea, including the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands.
