Updated: 15:21, 25/06/2024

BAC GIANG - A delegation of officials and outstanding farmers from Laos’ Xaysomboun province led by Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry Keoanong Siasot visited a number of agricultural production models in Nghia Phuong commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province on June 24.

The delegation explored three typical agricultural models, including the organic custard apple production at Dang Van Thanh's family in Ky Son village; the specialty animal (striped civets and bamboo rat) farming of Pham Van Hung's family in Nghia An village; and the semi-grazing goat farming of Vi Van Sy’s family in the Suoi Mo Ecotourism Area.

Welcoming the Xaysomboun delegation, a representative of the People's Committee of Luc Nam said that the district boasts strengths in both cultivation and animal husbandry.

In recent years, the locality has paid special attention to the production of high-quality goods. Most local farmers have mastered science and technology. Farming follows farmers’ intentions and does not depend much on nature as before. Therefore, agricultural products have high value in the market, earning farmers good income.

The knowledge obtained from the Bac Giang field trip will help farmers in the Lao province have a new perspective on modern agricultural production and access to new technical advances as a basis to propose and develop appropriate programmes and apply them to production practices in Xaysomboun.
