House No.90 – Tho Nhuom Street, where the first Party General Secretary Tran Phu wrote a political thesis.

Hanoi city’s leaders expressed their gratitude to the late General Secretary, who was an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh and a staunch advocate of the international communist and workers’ movement.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, along with other leaders of Hanoi, offered incense to commemorate late Party General Secretary Tran Phu.

On the same day, many agencies, organisations, party members and people also offered incense to commemorate late Party General Secretary Tran Phu at the relic site of House No.90, Tho Nhuom Street.

Tran Phu, whose father was a patriotic Confucian scholar, was born into a poor family on May 1, 1904, in Phu Yen province.

Joining revolutionary activities at an early age, he was elected to the provisional Central Committee in July 1930 and was assigned with compiling the Party’s political programme.

At the first plenum of the Central Committee, Tran Phu was elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in October 1930.

On April 19, 1931, he was arrested by French colonialists and brutally tortured. He died several months later at the age of 27, leaving his comrades and the people with a deep sense of admiration and sympathy.

His revolutionary career was short but he left a large legacy to the Party and nation.

Foreign leaders extend condolences to Vietnam over former President’s death

Leaders of China, Laos, Cambodia and Cuba have sent messages and letters of condolences over the death of former President Le Duc Anh to leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the State, Government, National Assembly and people of Vietnam, and the family of the deceased. 

 

Provincial leader receives delegation of Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

(BGO) - Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province Duong Van Thai welcomed the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Hu Suo Jin on 24 April. The event was attended by representatives of some related agencies and AAC Technologies Vietnam Company Limited to seek investment opportunities in the province.

 

Party leader back to work soon

Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong will soon return to work as normal, Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang has stated.

 

Hanoi leaders pay floral tribute at Lenin statue

A delegation of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and the Fatherland Front, led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang laid a wreath at the statue of Vladimir Ilych Lenin in Hanoi on April 24 to mark the 149th birthday of Lenin.

 

PM receives OANA members’ leaders

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 19 hosted a reception for a delegation of representatives of members of the Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) who are in Hanoi for the 44th OANA Executive Board Meeting (EBM).
