Hanoi suspends non-essential services from 0:00 on July 19

The capital city of Hanoi will halt all non-essential services from 0:00 on July 19, according to dispatch No.15/CD-UBND signed by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh.

Under the dispatch, people are required to stay at home and only go outside when necessary such as business trips; go to work at agencies, offices, factories, production facilities, business and service establishments which are allowed to open, buying food and medicines, or other emergency cases like health check-ups and treatment.

Residents are urged to strictly follow the 5K motto, keep a distance of 2m during contact, avoid gathering of more than five people in public and outside of offices and schools, make health declarations on the website www.tokhaiyte.vn or apps Ncovi and Bluezone.

Production and business establishments and service establishments which are allowed to remain open include factories, production facilities, construction sites, business establishments of essential goods (such as food, pharmaceuticals, electricity, water, fuel, gasoline, and oil); food businesses providing delivery/takeaway services, educational institutions, banks, treasuries, service businesses operating in banking and supporting business activities, securities, postal and telecommunications services, transportation support services; healthcare facilities, and funeral services.

Agencies, businesses, and groups, including foreign-invested ones, were urged to actively outline online working or work-in-shift plans.

Shopping malls, supermarkets, wholesale and local markets in the city only sell necessities, ensuring sufficient food and necessities for people.

Mandatory medical declarations are requested for people entering Hanoi from other cities and provinces.

Regarding transportation, public transport would operate at half of their seating capacity.

The city’s authorities also ordered temporary suspend of wedding events while funerals must be held with no more than 30 people.
