Bac Giang vows to not let businesses suffer damage from any Covid-19 case
Covid-19 spreads in enterprises
G.W.T Garment Joint Stock Company based in Phuc Thuong village, Song Mai commune (Bac Giang city), which specializes in garment production, has hundreds of workers. When the Covid-19 epidemic broke out in industrial parks and some localities in the province, many of the company's workers in areas under social distancing temporarily stopped working, so businesses lacked workers.

Recently, to fulfill orders signed with partners, the company has recruited new workers. However, in the recruitment process, this enterprise has failed to strictly comply with regulations on epidemic prevention and control.
Nguyen Van Thanh, head of Economic Division (Bac Giang city), said that although the city has instructed and asked businesses to develop labour recruitment plans and collect workers’ samples for Covid-19 testing before working but a newly recruited worker of the company from Viet Lap commune (Tan Yen district) was not tested for Covid-19. Through screening at the place of residence, authorities discovered that this worker was infected with the coronavirus (F0), causing the business to stop operating.
Recently, some workers infected with Covid-19 were detected at Baian Co., Ltd. in Tan My-Song Khe Industrial Cluster (Bac Giang city), which specializes in garment production with 120 workers. According to a representative from the Bac Giang City Medical Center, by July 13, this enterprise had 25 F0 cases.
In fact, not only the above two enterprises, in some localities in the province, businesses outside industrial zones have resumed production but failed to strictly comply with pandemic prevention and control regulations.
Strictly handling violations
The province now has 122 out of 221 enterprises in industrial clusters resuming operations with more than 21,500 workers, while 43 out of 52 industrial production enterprises outside industrial clusters re-operated with more than 9,500 employees.
For sustainable development and good control of the Covid-19 epidemic and to avoid economic damage to businesses, on July 10, the provincial Steering Committee for restoring industrial production, business and trade issued a document guiding enterprises to strictly follow regulations on pandemic prevention and control.

Accordingly, enterprises are only allowed to employ laborers with RT-PCR test showing negative for SARS - CoV-2. All employees must sign a commitment to implementing pandemic prevention and control measures as prescribed. Enterprises are responsible for closely monitoring and taking strict measures against those who violate the signed commitment.
Along with the above solutions, at a recent online meeting between the provincial Steering Committee for restoring industrial production, business and trade and authorities of districts and city, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan, head of the Steering Committee, said that in order to suit the new normal, districts and city must urgently review the number of enterprises and classify them into three levels of high risk, medium risk and low risk for monitoring and guiding strict compliance with regulations in production resumption associated with Covid-19 prevention and control. It is a must to resolutely stop operation of any enterprise that does not meet conditions on pandemic prevention and control.
He asked businesses to take samples for SARS-CoV-2 testing of all employees once a week to control the epidemic.
Implementing the above direction, at this time, localities are focusing on inspecting enterprises to guide and correct violations in pandemic prevention and control work. Bac Giang city set up a working group with more than 100 members divided into small teams and assigned responsibility for inspecting enterprises' compliance with anti-pandemic regulations.
Similarly, the steering committees for Covid-19 prevention and control of Lang Giang, Luc Nam, Viet Yen and Hiep Hoa districts assigned their members and working groups to focus on inspecting and guiding enterprises to strictly abide by anti-epidemic regulations.
