Five students from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) won the first prize at the AIoT Developer InnoWorks 2019 (InnoWorks 2019) – a contest for teams’ AIoT application development on the WISE-PaaS platform.

In the final round, six teams presented their projects to the judges, which consisted of reputable experts who directly assessed the teams through their goals, subjects, technologies and application development results during the competition.

The "Early detection of pathogens in agriculture" project brought Falion the first place prize worth VND120 million in cash. They will participate in an exchange next month to share their projects’ results with other champions of world’s InnoWorks 2019, organised by Advantech Group in five countries and territories, including Chinese Taipei, the Republic of Korea, Japan, China and Russia.

Another team from the HUST – the Lightning Bolt team won the second place prize worth VND70 million for their "Industrial chain management support system" project, while the "Application of LORA technology in smart agriculture" project by students from the Hanoi-based Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology won the third place prize, worth VND 50 million. The organisers also awarded three encouragement prizes worth VND30 million for the other projects in the finals.

Officially launched in April 2019, InnoWorks 2019 underwent three rounds to encourage creativity and startup among students, creating opportunities for young technology enthusiasts to realise their creative ideas and exchange with experts and friends at home and abroad. Participating in the contest, the teams had nearly four months to develop apps with a professional training programme provided by Advantech Vietnam's engineers and experts from the HUST.
