Provincial invention contest for youth and teenagers: Meaningful playground to nurture young talents
A number of interesting initiatives
The project “Automatic puller system to support marking of multiple choice test via telephone” of Dao Manh Tuyen and Chu Van Kiem, class 12A1 in Phuong Son high school, Luc Nam district was highly evaluated by the Organizing Board of the 15th “provincial invention contest for youth and teenagers 2019” for its great idea and won the first prize at the High school group.

According to Dao Manh Tuyen, this idea was generated when they saw their teachers scoring multiple choice test with smart phones. The automatic puller system via smart phone was designed simply and conveniently with the function taking paper from the tray, a cell phone holder, engine and transmission system.
“In order to complete this product, we faced numerous difficulties in designing electronic circuit and controller. However, in line with other initiatives, we replaced the initial one with the programmable button controller and stepper motor controller and finally we gained success”, said Tuyen.
The initiative “Designing online supermarket chain to supply safe farm produce to the housewife” by the author Duong Quang Thanh, class 9A2 in the Secondary School of Thang Town, Hiep Hoa district also won the first prize at the group of secondary and primary schools.
With a software designed for both window and Smartphone running android platform to serve the 3 targets including producers of safe farm produce, retailers and customers, this model helps to provide information of safe farm produce with origin traceability, receive orders, sell online, supervise and list the products with high turnovers. The solution supports connecting safe farm products from producers to retailers to supply customers.
This year, the Organizing Board of the “provincial creativity competition for youth and teenagers” received 77 models and products in many fields with a number of interesting ideas and initiatives. Most of the projects focused on the fields of informatics software, solutions for environmental protection and kid toys which are close to the teenagers.
High feasibility
Nguyen Hong Son, Vice Chairman of the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations evaluated that the models and entries of this year had quite similar quality. Besides, the topics and fields of researches were diversified showing talent and creativity of the youth and teenagers. The authors and groups of authors paid attention to creativity, using proper materials and applicability.

At this competition, many projects are not limited in ideas but they have been effectively applied in reality. In addition to the two mentioned models, the product “multi-functioned cleaning machine” by the group of authors Pham Ngoc Phuong and Dam Thi Thuy Duong class 9A in Yen Dinh junior high school, Son Dong district with simple design and low production cost but high durability and easy to operate won the third prize.
Currently, the Organizing Board is selecting the outstanding models and products to compete at the 15th national creativity competition for youth and teenagers.
In addition, the projects with high applicability will be introduced to attend other competitions to access to funding resources, continue researching and complete the models and products.
According to Nguyen Hong Son, the Organizing Board will continue paying attention to promoting the competition to all localities and schools to lure many students who desire for innovation, want to enrich their knowledge and practice researching skills to proactively attend this meaningful playground.
