Health Ministry to mobilise nearly 10,000 health workers to support Ho Chi Minh City
Minister Long said the development of the Covid-19 epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City is very complicated and is likely to increase rapidly in the coming days.

The Ministry of Health and its standing units have been working continuously to strengthen support for epidemic prevention and control and epidemic surveillance in Ho Chi Minh City in order to implement drastic measures in the city.
Currently, over 3,300 health workers, and students of medical schools are present in the southern metropolis that is now the country’s biggest pandemic hotspot, the Minister said, adding that the ministry is also scheduled to establish 24 working groups to support the city in the fight.
Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said the city will impose social distancing in line with the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 16 for 15 days, starting from July 9.
Accordingly, local residents are asked to stay at home and only go outside for essential trips such as to buy food and medicine, or for emergency care. Delivery services for essential good are allowed.
