At the meeting, Duong expressed pleasure to welcome the Indian Ambassador and his wife and daughter to the province, and informed them of local natural conditions, population and socio-economic situation.

He said that Bac Giang currently has six industrial parks with synchronous infrastructure, attracting 6.5 billion USD in investment. The province's industry mainly focuses on electronic products for the fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). Most recently, Bac Giang has drawn manufacturers of Apple products. He thanked the Ambassador and his embassy for providing favorable conditions for the province over the past time.

To strengthen the cooperation between Bac Giang and Indian partners, the provincial leader asked the Ambassador to support the province in trade promotion, especially for strong agricultural products, and introduce Indian businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Bac Giang.

He asked the Ambassador to consider supporting the province to build a school in a disadvantaged area this year and granting scholarships to local officials to attend short-term and long-term training courses in the fields of agriculture, information technology, health, and English language; and to help Bac Giang province set up twinning ties a locality of India.

For his part, Pranay Verma expressed his pleasure to visit Bac Giang, offer incense and plant a tree at the Tay Yen Tu relic site - a Buddhist center of Vietnam, saying that Bac Giang is his first official stopover in 2021. He also informed the hosts about some features of India as well as its policies towards Vietnam.

The Ambassador appreciated the development potential of Bac Giang and requested the province to pay attention to investment promotion to Indian investors and enterprises in the four fields of renewable energy, information technology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture. The locality should enhance promotion and cooperation for cultural and tourism development; and organize events to introduce the culture of India in the province. He added that India has an ambition to become an economy of 5 trillion USD. This is a great opportunity for India to step up investment cooperation with Vietnam, including Bac Giang province.

The same day, Ambassador Pranay Verma and his wife visited the Tay Yen Tu Ecological-Spiritual Tourist Area and planted a tree here.
