Israeli water saving and wastewater treatment shared with Vietnam

Aimed at celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Israel diplomatic relations and promoting cooperation in science and technology between the two countries, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (under the Ministry of Science and Technology) joined the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam to organise the workshop, focusing on saving water and standardisation.
Experts from Israel shared their country’s policies and experience in water management and wastewater treatment. Thanks to appropriate planning and the application of water solutions, Israel has successfully cured its water scarcity, becoming a world leader in water technology.
Also at the three-day workshop, experts discussed policies to encourage young scientists and businesses to invest in water technology. They introduced drip irrigation - a core technology that has changed the face of the Israeli agriculture.

Although Vietnam and Israel are different in terms of land size and terrain, the management and experience that Israel has adopted can be useful lessons for Vietnam to develop its strategies in the field of water saving and standardization, waste treatment, and climate change adaptation, Tung added.
