Korea International Cooperation Agency to support Bac Giang in education

BAC GIANG - On the afternoon of May 22, Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Mai Son received the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) delegation led by Song EunEui, Deputy Country Director of KOICA Vietnam.

At the meeting, PPC Vice Chairman Mai Son briefed the guest about the province's socio-economic situation.

On behalf of the delegation, Song EunEui said during this working visit to Bac Giang province, KOICA surveyed and wished to implementing the project "Supporting the Bac Giang Vietnam - Korea College of Technology to develop talented and skilled labor".

During a working session with Vietnam - Korea College of Technology on the same morning, the delegation learned about the plan to expand training scale as well as the provincial leaders' interest in the school's development. .

KOICA chose Vietnam (specifically Bac Giang and Nghe An provinces) to pilot this project. After this, KOICA aims to expand to other industries in the province.

The project "Supporting Bac Giang Vietnam - Korea College of Technology to develop talented and skilled labor" is expected to be implemented in 5 years (2024-2029), with a budget of 7.25 million USD ( more than 175 billion VND), 100% is non-refundable aid capital.

The project focuses on training in various fields like shipbuilding, painting and cleaning pipeline and mechanical among others. At the same time, it links job opportunities in the Vietnamese and Korean markets for skilled workers; contributes to Vietnam's development through the returning worker program; human resource development; enhances job opportunities in Vietnam and Korea.

The Bac Giang provincial leader believed that the sooner KOICA invests and supports Bac Giang province, more and more effective it will be. The province committed to use the aid effectively when receiving it.

He assigned Bac Giang Vietnam - Korea College of Technology to coordinate with relevant sectors and units to work specifically with KOICA.
