High infections, overloaded heath workers

Since February 2022, the numbers of local infections have been sharply increased with daily average detection of 2,000 cases, even over 4,000 patients. The health sector also forecast about a disease widespread in the upcoming days.

In Yen Dung district, the pandemic is complicated with high numbers of F0 (more than 300 cases per day), making overload situation for medical station, mobile medical station to manage, instruct and support patients under home treatment.

Director of the district Medical Center Vu Tri Quy said: “The medical stations in Noi Hoang, Yen Lu and Tien Phong communes have been recently overcrowded because many came to take samples for Covid-19 test. The Center is treating 112 patients at Infectious Department and mobilizing 100 doctors and nurses to assist the pandemic severely hit communes to take samples for test as well as take care of more than 11,300 F0s at home.

Meanwhile, there are only areas with high and very high risk on pandemic level map in Bac Giang city. Dozens of households in such ward of Tran Nguyen Han, Tho Xuong and Hoang Van Thu …have members contracted to novel coronavirus. Many officials, public servants, staff and labours at many organizations are infected.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Dinh said the disease out broke strongly at crowded residential areas, schools, companies and organizations, especially among people who are not vaccinated and children under 12.

To respond to current situation, the municipal People’s Committee highly focused on communicating and strictly managing over workers from other provinces and industrial parks by ordering them to make daily health declaration on PC-Covid application and restricting to contact to many persons. Any one with epidemic factor must be seriously monitored to early detect the disease and prevent more community infections.

On this occasion, the restaurants and stores have few customers because most of the people buy necessities, many of them select online shopping and home delivery.

Human resource reinforcement for “Red zone”

According to the Department of Health, the disease is now widely spread among community. The province detected Omicron variant detection, leading to fast infection speed.

Director of the Health Department Tu Quoc Hieu said: “Bac Giang province focuses on communicating and persuading people to enhance the awareness for self-protection. The treatment facilities must interfere, reduce the number of critical cases and recover the overloaded situation for medical system”.

Though the high increase of infected cases was foreseen, sometimes the human resources, medical supplies and equipment, facilities and medicines could not meet the requirement because of too fast infection. The health sector quickly mobilized health worker from “green zone” to support the red ones.

Several provincial hospitals of Mental, Rehabilitation, Traditional Medicine, Tumor and Endocrinology established groups to consult and treat F0 at home with about 30 to 50 doctors to assist the districts of Hiep Hoa, Viet Yen, Yen Dung, Luc Ngan and Bac Giang city as well as the Medical Center at the provincial industrial parks due to the highly increasing number of infected workers.

Strictly implementing the direction from Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee at Correspondence No.685/UBND-KGVX on February 24, 2022, the local organizations and agencies do not allow the officials, public servants, staff and labours to hold exchange activities and party with big gathering while issuing serious punishment for any violated case.
