Ministry of Construction inspects implementation of social housing projects in Bac Giang province
BAC GIANG - The working delegation of the Ministry of Construction led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh on April 1 inspected the implementation of the 1 million social houses project in Bac Giang province.
Since 2021, Bac Giang has been implementing 14 social housing projects for workers and low-income earners, using 60.56 hectares of land with total expected apartments of 29,000.

Bac Giang is targeted to complete 69,822 apartments in 2025-2030 period and 5,000 apartments in 2025.
To that end, the provincial People’s Committee assigned the Department of Construction to supervise and accelerate the investors, who were granted construction permit to speed up progress of the projects to fulfill the set target.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thinh requested the Ministry of Construction to build data system of those eligible for purchasing social apartments and integrate information to ensure public management, transparency and save time for verification.
Besides, as the localities are implementing administrative unit arrangement, it is necessary to make appropriate adjustment to the regulations and guidance.

At the meeting, the delegates answered the questions and grasped recommendations on price appraisal, land use fee calculation, conditions for purchasing social houses and preferential loans to buy social houses.
After the inspection, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh highly spoke on the active involvement of the province.
He urged the province to continue reviewing, allocating land fund and considering approval of investment policies for new projects.

Besides, the licensed projects should be accelerated to build more social apartments in coming time.
The enlisted projects in 2025 should be closely supervised and accelerated with boosted administrative procedure reform. The Ministry will respond to the recommendations in the soonest time.
Previously, the working delegation visited the social housing area for workers in Nenh and Quang Chau wards (Viet Yen township) and the social housing area No 2 in Zone 5 and 9, the southern urban area of Bac Giang city.
The Hanoi authorities have approved six additional social housing projects covering a total area of 13 hectares in the districts of Ba Dinh, Long Bien, Thanh Tri and Thach That.
